Reviewing and Recommending Brands – Criteria & Review Process

Any brand or product recommended on this site has been extensively researched. We look for transparency throughout the supply chain, materials used, shipping and packaging practices, and third-party certifications, to name a few. It is important to us at Successfully Sustainable that we recommend brands that actively do their best to support people and the environment.

That said, no brand or product is perfect. We realize this. Brands that are genuinely working towards bettering their sustainability need to be supported if we are going to change the current standards and expectations of businesses.

In the name of sustainability and minimalism, we cannot have personally tried every product recommended on this site. We always use information from the brand’s website, online reviews, third-party certifications, and other press releases to help us determine whether or not to recommend the product.

If we have had the chance to use the product ourselves, we will always give our honest opinion.

We do not support brands or products that we believe to be unethical or harmful to the environment, nor those that practice greenwashing (attempts to make their product appear sustainable when it is not.)

If you suspect that any of the products recommended on this site are not as sustainable as they seem, please reach out to us in the comments section of the specific article or through our Contact page.

Our posts may contain affiliate links to third-party sites selling sustainable products. The posts that contain these links will always clearly state their presence.

If you use these links to make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from your sale. This does not increase the price of your purchase.

The funds we incur from this commission help us create more content to help you live more sustainably and research, review, and recommend sustainable products and services.

Successfully Sustainable is not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of third-party sites and expressly disclaims any liability, damages or detriment arising from such content or practices.

What makes a brand sustainable is subjective, so we always encourage you to check out its impact statement or mission and values to see if they align with your beliefs before purchasing products.

If you have any questions about the information on this page, please feel free to reach out via our Contact page.

Remember that every journey begins with just one step. The road to a sustainable lifestyle is no different.
